The late Alaafin of Oyo estranged wife, Queen Badirat Ola, is currently honoring her late father.
According to reports, Queen Ola expressed her sorrow over the passing of her father, High Chief Abdul-Rasheed Shehu, the Alapinni of Oyo land, and how devastated she was.
High Chief Abdul-Rasheed Shehu, the Alapinni of Oyo Land, passed away early on September 17 after a protracted illness.
Through her verified Instagram profile, Queen Ola paid tribute to the late Alapinni and expressed her sorrow over his passing. Though she claimed to be rendered speechless by his passing, the vivacious queen hoped that God would accept his return.
She wrote;
Inna lilahi waina ilehi rojiun.
Aapinni Oosha...
I don’t have the right word to say now than to pray to Almighty Allah to accept your return.
Daddy mi.. Hmmm it is well.
It has been eight days since his passing as of today, September 26.
The queen's family held a Fidau prayer for the deceased in accordance with their custom.
Queen Ola shared a video of herself getting ready for the event on Instagram.
She wrote:
“How I stepped out for my father’s 8 days Fidau”.
