AISHA LAWAL REPLIES CRITICS ON CHARACTER FROM "ANIKULAPO" MOVIE

Actress Aisha Lawal has addressed the criticism around the role she acted in Kunle Afolayan's most recent film, Anikulapo.

The hero of Anikulapo is Saro, a traveling cloth weaver (Kunle Remi), who was murdered after having an affair with the Alaafin's youngest wife, Arolake (Bimbo).

He is brought back to life by a mythological bird, who also leaves behind a gourd that has the ability to resurrect the dead.

Following her performance in the film, Aisha, who played Sunkanmi, an elder wife of the Alaafin, became a popular subject on social media.

According to Aisha, Arolake's choice to elope with Saro was blamed on her character Sunkanmi. Many people thought that Arolake left because of the mistreatment he endured from Sunkanmi and her co-wife.

she wrote:

"OK SO CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE MOST TALK ABT MOVIE OF THE MOMENT  #ANIKULAPO I HAVE BEEN SEEING YOUR TAGS ON IG AND TWITTER SERIOUSLY HOW IS IT OLORI SUNKANMI'S FAULT THAT OLORI AROLAKE @bimboademoye FOLLOW FINE BOY ELOPE? NA SWEET THING INJURE AM NAAA EHHHH

In response to the criticism, Aisha Lawal said that Arolake was not a saint either because she fake an illness to have sex with the king while knowing it was Sunkanmi's turn. She made this claim in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
