NURSING MOTHER COMMITS SUICIDE INSIDE BUSH AND HER 2 YEARS OLD DAUGHTER WAS FOUND CRYING BESIDE HER BODY IN ABUJA (DETAILS)

On Monday, November 21, a yet-to-be-identified nursing mother reportedly committed suicide by abandoning her child in a bush.

where her body was discovered along Suuka Airport road in the Federal Capital Territory.

Communities suddenly found the woman dead in the bush, next to an empty bottle of insecticide. Passers-by were drawn in by her crying baby, who was believed to be two years old.

DSP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, confirmed the incident, saying the corpse had been deposited in a morgue and the child is now in police custody. She noted that efforts are being made to locate the deceased woman's family members.

She said:

“I can confirm to you that this case was reported at our division in Iddo. The corpse has been deposited at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital morgue. We cannot rush to the conclusion that she drank sniper, an autopsy will be conducted to determine the true cause of her death.”
