Saheed Balogun has led a group of Nollywood filmmakers, actors, and entertainers known as the Progressive Coalition of Entertainers in rallying support for the APC's presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a show of support for the APC in the forthcoming elections, the Yoruba faction of Nollywood paid a courtesy visit to Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Obasa, who had received the group, urged them to remain steadfast in their support for the party and its candidate, while also thanking them for their previous support.
He said:
“Our task is to involve people, enlighten them and make them see reasons why they should continue to support APC.
“We know the group has always supported the party and we want them to continue.”
“We see Tinubu as one who has done a lot to qualify as the next president of Nigeria and we hope to continue to release the presidential candidate’s achievements.
“Asiwaju has done well and it is time to pay back. Every successive government continues to build on his foundation.”
This is not the first group of Nollywood actors and filmmakers to back Tinubu and the APC in the upcoming election.
