The actor Olaniyi Afonja, also known as Sanyeri, has rejected the popular belief that African men are not romantic.
"It is not a fact that African men are not romantic," he said in an interview with Saturday Beats. Every African man is capable of satisfying his partner. "They are far more romantic than anyone else on the planet."
"They all should be quiet and patient enough to wait their turn," Sanyeri advises young actors who want to become celebrities overnight. They should work first, then wait for their harvest. Many aspiring actors want to cut corners.
To that end, some of them post nearly naked photos on social media. Every aspiring actor should be diligent, determined, and focused. "If they can stick to those three characteristics, the sky is the limit," says the director.
"I can act various roles, but my solidarity lies in playing comic characters," Afonja says of the role he finds most satisfying to play.
