"WHY I IGNORED CRITICS OVER MY POLITICAL AMBITION" FUNKE AKINDELE EXPLAINS

The Nollywood star has revealed why she has ignored criticism about her political ambition.

Funke, the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos, Olajide Adediran aka Jandor, made the announcement during the party's ongoing community engagement with people in Eleko community, Ibeju-Lekki axis of the state.

The 45-year-old stated that she entered the governorship race to rid Lagos of "bad governance."

She siad:

"Nobody is happy with what is going on in Lagos State right now," s

She further warned:

"If people do not find solutions, things will quickly worsen,"

She stated:

"We want to secure the future of our children, and it starts now," 

Explaining why she ignored those who made negative comments about her. They said so many things when I wanted to come out, but I didn't respond because they know the state will be better if we win."

This comes just weeks after All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu urged party supporters to "act as if they don't remember" the name of the actress and Lagos deputy governor-elect.

At a stakeholders' meeting held at the Lagos APC secretariat on Acme Road in Ogba, Tinubu told party members that mentioning the actress's name is a "big insult."
