FILMMAKERS PLANS TO PENALIZE ACTOR, OLAIYA IGWE FOR GOING NAKED TO PRAY FOR TINUBU (DETAILS)

TAMPAN has announced that the association's disciplinary committee will take action against veteran actor Ebun Oloyede, aka Olaiya Igwe.

According to the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria , this is in response to a video in which he is seen praying in his underwear for Bola Tinubu, the APC's presidential candidate, to win the election in 2023.

According to The Gavel, TAMPAN president Otunba Bolaji Amusan revealed the information last Thursday during a meeting of the association's Central Working Committee.

It was the committee's first meeting after the new executives were sworn in on December 3, 2022.

At the conference, Olaiya was accused of going completely against the standards of the culture it upholds and of encouraging behaviors that could jeopardize the association's fundamental ideals.

Amusan claimed that if TAMPAN did not take appropriate action to address these issues, additional issues would arise, preventing the association's progress.

The statements reads:

"Each member is required to use their sense of creativity with a standard level of etiquette while acknowledging each member's right to belong to any political party of their choosing. According to him, everyone who engages in the performing and visual arts should be aware that society's interests come before individual ones.

"The TAMPAN President underlined the need to guarantee that the Association is completely sanitized and that members adhere to the moral and cultural standards outlined in the Association's constitution. "The fate of common metals would be worse if gold could be allowed to rot. Despite his position within the Association, he came to the conclusion that Chief Ebun Oloyede would be brought before a disciplinary committee and dealt with appropriately if found guilty of conducting his practice in a way that could bring TAMPAN into disrepute.

"He explained that the purpose of this was to dissuade any members who would be considering the viral video to be another creative dimension and precedent. He emphasized the importance of the Media and Publicity Directorate to TAMPAN's overall success and asked the Directorate to work tirelessly to completely rebrand the Association," according to a statement from the organization."
