Lagos State deputy governorship candidate, Funke Akindele reacts to the death of late Nigerian Lawyer, Bolanle Raheem.
Funke described the incident as tragic and upsetting, noting that the late Bolanle could have been one of us. She said that at a time when many people are celebrating with their families, a trigger-happy cop denied her the opportunity to do so. She also sent condolence messages to the late Bolanle Raheem's family and friends, praying that God grant them the strength to bear such an unexplainable loss.
She wrote:
"This is tragic!!!!Such a disheartening encounter on CHRISTMAS DAY!
Bolanle Raheem could have been any one of us. While we are celebrating with our families , sadly a trigger happy policeman denied her of having such opportunity . My condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, may God grant them the fortitude to bear this indescribable loss.
It is beyond sad and regrettable that the police officer tasked with the responsibility of protecting us, is the same one who has killed one of us. Justice definitely must be served, he must be brought to book. These evil acts must stop! Rest In Peace Bolanle!!
