"I WAS DEPRESSED FROM MY LAST MARRIAGE" ACTRESS, TOYIN ABRAHAM TALKS ABOUT HER CAREER

Toyin Abraham, a Nollywood actress, has talked about the big change in her career and the series of events that occurred following her divorce from her ex-husband and colleague, Adeniyi Johnson.

According to reports, the actress stated in an interview with Legit that the turning point in her career occurred when she was depressed following her previous marriage.

The mother of one, who has evolved from a Yoruba actress to a multidimensional Nollywood star, recalled attempting suicide due to a bad relationship that became widely publicized.

Toyin Abraham claims that during a difficult period, she made the decision not to give up and restart her career in the film industry. The actress went on to say that she was determined to start making movies for the big screen, which proved to be a watershed moment in her career.

She said:

“My transformation happened during the time I was depressed from my last marriage. I was into so many things then and I was taking a lot of bad substances. So I could say I was gone, so many things affected me, I was in a bad relationship that became a very notorious relationship and I was really down.

“But one day, I just stood up and looked at myself in the mirror and said this is not me. It was at that point I decided to pick the pieces of my life and mold them back together.

“I decided to start all over again. I just had the determination that I was going into cinema movies and trust me, that was it, that was the turning point in my career. The transformation happened when I thought everything was over but I decided to stand strong and tall. It wasn’t easy but I pulled through.”
