TikToker Okoye Blessing Nwakego, who previously made allegations against actress Eniola Badmus, has faced the legal consequences for her actions. After being arrested by the police, she was arraigned and sentenced by a federal high court in Lagos.
Eniola Badmus was present during Nwakego's arrest and had insisted on substantiating the allegations in court. Nwakego was charged with cyberstalking, and it was alleged that she conspired with another person named Chimabia to commit this felony.
The court found Nwakego guilty on two counts of cyberstalking and transmitting offensive communication. As a result, she was sentenced to one year imprisonment with an option of a fine of N50,000 on count one and two years imprisonment with an option of N100,000 fine on count two. The terms of imprisonment are to be concurrent, while the terms of the fines are to be consecutive.
In the end, Nwakego opted to pay the fine of N150,000 to secure her freedom. The case serves as a cautionary reminder about the consequences of making false allegations and engaging in cyberstalking, emphasizing the need for responsible use of social media and digital platforms.
