The Lagos Annex of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Zone 2, Alagbon, has shed light on its handling of the case involving late singer Mohbad, who filed a petition against music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry) and others for alleged assault.
According to the FCID spokesperson, Oluniyi Ogundeyi, Mohbad failed to cooperate with the police's investigation. Although he initially reported the case on June 27, 2023, and the police invited the accused parties for questioning, Mohbad never showed up to adopt and defend his petition or provide evidence to assist the investigation. Sam Larry, on the other hand, filed a counter-petition accusing Mohbad of defamation of character.
Despite multiple attempts to reach out to Mohbad, he remained uncooperative. Without his involvement, the police couldn't proceed with the investigation and forward the case to the legal department. This situation raised questions among Nigerians about the handling of the case.
