Fast-rising Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has boldly declared that he is more significant than the prestigious Headies Awards. Portable, who has been embroiled in a feud with the award organizers over a previous nomination dispute, now envisions himself on a global stage, aiming for the Grammys.
In his statement, Portable emphasized his self-belief as a star who doesn't need to beg for recognition. He also expressed regret for having placed too much trust in others, stating that he had failed himself by thinking everyone was as supportive as he had been.
"Zazuu, nobody failed me; I failed myself by assuming everyone was on my side, just as I was for them. Say no to negative energy, my star. Don't plead to shine; life is like Portable Kogbagidi. IKA OF AFRICA, I'm bigger than the Headies; you're just complaining, Zazuu. I'm aiming for the Grammy. There's nothing we desire that God hasn't already done. Alhamdulilah," he declared.
