Nollywood star Kemi Afolabi, who has been bravely confronting the challenges of Lupus, a condition where the immune system mistakenly targets body tissues and organs, recently allowed her fans a rare glimpse into her ongoing medical journey. The Yoruba actress had previously disclosed her battle with Lupus in the past year, leading her to seek specialized medical care abroad.
In this latest update, Kemi engaged in a candid conversation with her doctor during a check-up. She shared her concerns about the persistent swelling in her hands and feet, expressing her earnest desire to regain her physical well-being.
However, there is a glimmer of hope in her story. Kemi revealed that she is currently in a remission period, a phase where the symptoms of Lupus are less severe. She mentioned that the pain she experienced in the earlier stages of her diagnosis has reduced significantly.
She stated, "My feet and hands have been swollen, and I need to get back in shape. I do have pains and sickness in the morning, once in a while. It’s not as frequent anymore as it used to be. Right now I am in the remission period because it hasn’t been bad, compared to what I was experiencing before."
