"Igbo Race Has Its Roots Here In Ile"-ife- Kabiyesi Ooni Of Ife Reveals

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has made a significant statement, suggesting that there is substantial evidence to indicate that the Igbo people have their ancestral roots in Ile-Ife.


Speaking to the press at his palace in Ife, the monarch called upon Nigerian universities' academia to thoroughly document the history of the Yoruba race. He emphasized the importance of accurate historical records to not only promote unity but also unveil the interconnectedness among various ethnic groups.


The Ooni of Ife pointed out the existence of Ile-Igbo within the palace, a long-standing historical reference, as evidence of the Igbo's historical ties to Ile-Ife. He clarified that this documentation effort is not government-sponsored but a collective initiative to compile accurate historical accounts for the benefit of future generations.


In essence, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is advocating for a comprehensive and unbiased recording of history to shed light on the roots and connections between different ethnic groups, particularly the Igbo and Yoruba.
