A poignant video capturing Stella Maris, the wife of the late actor Mr Ibu, breaking down in tears has left many deeply saddened. This emotional moment unfolded as Mr Ibu's body was being moved from the morgue at Evercare Hospital, marking the first appearance of his wife and family since his passing.
Shared by Instagram blogger Tosin Silverdam, the video depicted Mr Ibu's wife clad in black, visibly distraught as her husband's body was prepared for transport. In another clip circulating online, Stella Maris was seen being consoled by members of Mr Ibu's family amidst her overwhelming grief.
According to reports, Mr Ibu's remains are being transported to his hometown for burial, with his sons Valantine Okafor and Daniel Okafor among those present.
The news of Mr Ibu's passing on Saturday, following months of illness, sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Confirmed by Emeka Rollas, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Ibu's death was attributed to cardiac arrest, prompting an outpouring of tributes from fellow actors and fans alike.
The beloved actor's battle with illness had garnered widespread attention in October last year when he appealed for help to avoid amputation. Generously, Davido, P-Square, Tunde Ednut, and Bukola Saraki among others stepped in to assist. Despite undergoing seven successful surgeries, Mr Ibu faced multiple challenges including the loss of his voice and the amputation of his leg. Nonetheless, he was discharged from the hospital in January, offering hope to his fans before his eventual passing.
