Adewunmi Fatai, the ex-partner of Nollywood actor Mustapha Sholagbade, has revealed details about their painful divorce in an upcoming interview with Debbie Shokoya on her podcast.
She disclosed that she learned about their separation through the internet after Mustapha gave an interview explaining why he couldn't marry her.
Adewunmi expressed her surprise, mentioning they were still together when he gave the interview but didn't discuss anything with her. She disputed Mustapha's claim of her insulting his mother, noting his mother never congratulated her when she gave birth to their son. Additionally, she recounted his mother's demand for her to kneel in greeting despite undergoing a Caesarian Section.
Adewunmi revealed Mustapha's sudden change in demeanor, leaving her confused. Initially, she attributed their relationship challenges to normal ups and downs. However, her shock intensified when she discovered online news of Mustapha's impending wedding.
"I found out about the breakup online. We were still together when he gave an interview saying he isn't marrying me anymore because I insulted his mother. He said I wasn't ready to get married and only wanted to have a child. How could I insult a woman who didn't even congratulate me when I gave birth?"
Adewunmi emphasized Mustapha's disrespectful behavior toward her mother on multiple occasions.
