Popular Nollywood actress Tayo Sobola recently opened up about her secret marriage and career choices. A few months ago, Sobola surprised fans by posting pictures of herself in a wedding dress on Instagram. While some congratulated her, others thought it was for a movie.
In an interview with The PUNCH, Sobola confirmed that she is indeed married and has known her husband for over seven years. She explained, "I am married. My husband is not in the movie industry. I have been married for a while and knew my husband for about seven years before we got married. I prefer to keep my personal life private, which is why I married secretly."
Sobola, who is also a fashion entrepreneur, revealed she hasn't appeared in many movies lately because she's focusing on her clothing line, Clean Stitches, which recently opened a branch in Abuja. She stated, "There is time for everything. Some people say they haven't seen me in movies as much, but sometimes you have to leave work to pursue other ventures. Right now, I am more into my business—making and selling clothes. I have the face already, so even if I take a break from movies, I can return without anyone noticing I was gone."
She added that she balances her time between her business and acting, ensuring she shoots movies when she is free. "I have plenty of films that are not out yet, so when I'm busy with other things, those will come out," Sobola concluded.
