"I Be Confirmed Hustler" Funke Akindele Addresses Billionaire Title Following Movie Success

Nollywood star Funke Akindele has addressed misconceptions about her financial status following the success of her latest movie, "A Tribe Called Judah" (ATCJ), which grossed over a billion naira at the box office. Despite setting a record as the first Nollywood film to reach this milestone, Akindele clarified that she did not take the entire amount home and is not a billionaire.

Funke Akindele explained to her fans that while "A Tribe Called Judah," along with her other movies "Battle On Buka Street" and "Omo Ghetto The Saga," are the highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time, the box office earnings do not equate to her personal wealth. She emphasized that she remains a hardworking individual who continues to hustle in her career.

Responding to a fan's message, she stated, "Thanks dear. I’m not a billionaire! My movie A Tribe Called Judah grossed over a billion naira. But I didn’t take the billion home o!!! I be confirmed hustler."

Akindele's comments also addressed her trolls, highlighting her resilience and determination in the industry. She shared on Instagram and the X app about not being defined by any category and encouraged her followers to persevere in their own dreams, emphasizing that her success is measured by the impact of her stories and the lives she touches.
