The funeral of Nollywood legend Amaechi Muonagor was held in his hometown of Obosi, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State. The service was attended by notable figures, including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and the State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment, Mr. Dom Onyenji.
Mr. Peter Obi expressed his condolences to the grieving family, urging them to find solace in their faith and pray for Muonagor's peaceful rest. Mr. Dom Onyenji highlighted the actor's significant contributions to Nollywood, praising his mentorship and talent. He assured the family of the Anambra government's support during this difficult time.
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Ejezie, also conveyed his sympathies, encouraging the family to draw strength from Muonagor's enduring legacy. State AGN chairman, Mrs. Chinyere Anyaegbunam, remembered him as a father figure and mentor who would be greatly missed.
