President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to cancel a planned protest set for next month. Reports indicate that various groups are organizing a nationwide ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest from August 1 to 10.
In response, Tinubu asked youths to be patient with his administration. Information Minister Mohammed Idris spoke to journalists after a meeting with the President on Tuesday, July 23, explaining that Tinubu urged the protest organizers to wait for the government’s response to their complaints.
“The issue of the planned protest, Mr. President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas. He has listened to them,” Idris said.
“Young people should listen to the President and allow him more time.”
