“I am not going out for any protest. Fight for yourself and leave Nigeria alone,” says singer Portable to Nigerian youth.

Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, known by his stage name Portable, has shared his views on the upcoming nationwide protest scheduled for August 1st.

In a recent social media post, Portable announced that he will not be joining the demonstration, emphasizing that he needs to focus on making money. The "Zazuu" singer criticized Nigerians planning to protest, suggesting that they are not serious about their jobs.

Portable advised people to fight for themselves rather than for Nigeria, asserting that the country is already in good shape. He criticized those asking him to perform during the rally, remarking that there are ample job opportunities and money in Nigeria, but many people fail to take their jobs seriously.

He said, "Please, I still need money, I still dey hustle. If you are not serious with your work, that is when you will go and protest. Fight for yourself, don’t fight for Nigeria. Nigeria is okay. Money dey where money dey. Don’t let your career turn to your barrier."
