Lateef Adedimeji Reveals Strategic Casting Decisions for ‘Lisabi,’ Highlights Collaboration with Mr. Macaroni and Ibrahim Chatta

Award-winning actor and producer Lateef Adedimeji recently shared insights into the casting choices for his latest film, Lisabi, produced by his wife, MoBimpe, who also serves as the executive producer. During an interview on Nollywood on Radio, Adedimeji explained that casting Mr. Macaroni as Sokenu and Ibrahim Chatta as Olori Ilari was a well-thought-out decision.

Adedimeji revealed that from the early stages of the script development, he had Ibrahim Chatta in mind for the role of Olori Ilari. He believed that Chatta was uniquely suited for the character, based on his research and deep understanding of the role. MoBimpe added that working with Chatta had been a long-time dream of hers, and Lisabi provided the perfect opportunity to bring that vision to life.

As for casting Mr. Macaroni as Sokenu, Lisabi’s best friend, Adedimeji said it was an easy decision. He explained that their chemistry had been evident since they worked together on the film Ayinla, where they played close roles. Since then, the two actors have become close friends, which has only enhanced the connection between their characters in Lisabi.

Supporting her husband’s point, MoBimpe shared that Mr. Macaroni is more than just a co-actor; he’s a close friend of the family, a bond that was strengthened when he served as Adedimeji’s best man at their wedding.
