Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky has been re-arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following allegations of bribery and corruption. Sources from the EFCC told Vanguard that Bobrisky was detained for failing to provide evidence to support his claims of paying a 15 million Naira bribe to EFCC officials to clear him of money laundering charges.
Bobrisky was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a flight to London. He is expected to be transferred to Abuja for further questioning.
In an official statement, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest, explaining, “Serious allegations of this nature require verification.”
The EFCC has denied any involvement in the alleged bribe, with officials emphasizing that the commission would not ignore such claims without thorough investigation.
