Three iconic figures in Nollywood, Prince Jide Kosoko, Otunba Adebayo Salami, and Patience Ozokwo, are set to receive honorary doctorates in Theatre Arts and Media Production from the prestigious Achievers Networks UK Academy. The ceremony will take place on November 30, 2024, at the Aderinokun Lecture Theatre at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
Kosoko, Salami, and Ozokwo are celebrated veterans in the Nigerian film industry, with decades of experience. They have each made remarkable contributions to Nollywood, captivating audiences with their talents and passion. Kosoko has earned global recognition, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Salami, known as Oga Bello, is not only an accomplished actor but also a respected director and producer, having produced numerous successful films and television shows.
The honorary doctorate degree from Achievers Networks UK Academy is a distinguished recognition of individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their fields. In addition to the Nollywood stars, other honorees include Dr. Kehinde T. Oluwafunmilayo, Olukilede Babatola Joseph, Ogundepo Tobi Abdullahi, Dr. Jackie Adunni Kassim, and Dr. Mohammed Argungu Lawal.
