“I suffered setbacks because of you people. Not this time!” Bolaji Ogunmola Warns Content Thieves

Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has issued a stern warning to content thieves on YouTube and social media platforms. In a recent Instagram post promoting her latest movie, the actress expressed frustration over the financial losses and setbacks caused by piracy.

She revealed the substantial investments made in her projects and vowed to take strict action against those stealing her content. Bolaji promised to publicly call out offenders, drag them on social media, and ensure unauthorized uploads are removed.

“To all the thumbnail stealers and content thieves, especially on YouTube, I’m ready for you on this project. You have no idea how much money has been spent on these contents, and I’ve constantly suffered setbacks because of you. Not this time; I’ll drag you, call you out, and order takedowns,” she declared.

This isn’t the first time piracy has sparked outrage in Nollywood. Last week, Funke Akindele, following the premiere of her movie Everybody Loves Jenifa, highlighted the devastating impact of piracy. She called on Nigerians to reject piracy, which she described as a menace crippling the industry.

Similarly, actor Deyemi Okanlawon recently spoke out against piracy, emphasizing the struggles of Nollywood producers, especially emerging ones. Despite limited government support, he noted how piracy undermines their efforts to create world-class stories.

The issue continues to draw attention, as stakeholders like Bolaji Ogunmola and others push for greater accountability and respect for intellectual property in the entertainment industry.
