Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has officially announced her return to the Nigerian film industry after spending over 15 years abroad. The 57-year-old star shared her excitement about this new chapter in her career, revealing her commitment to taking on significant roles and reconnecting with the vibrant world of Nollywood.
Bukky Wright’s comeback is marked by her appearance in the upcoming film Something About the Briggs, directed by Bukola Ogunsola. Reflecting on her time on set, she described the experience as heartwarming, allowing her to reconnect with old colleagues after many years. "It felt really good. It actually gave me the opportunity to see all these people again. I haven’t seen them in years," she shared.
The actress, known for her natural talent, emphasized that her passion for acting has never wavered, even during her long hiatus. “If it’s inbuilt, then it’s inbuilt. Nothing can take it away from you,” she said, affirming that her love for acting remains as strong as ever, whether she's playing a leading or supporting role.
Something About the Briggs, set to premiere on January 31, 2025, showcases Bukky’s enduring talent and reintroduces her to audiences eager to see her on screen again. Beyond this project, Bukky Wright has expressed her plans to stay in Nigeria and fully immerse herself in acting once more. “I’ll stay. I’m going to do more movies in Nigeria here during my stay. I have more projects coming, and I’m here to stay,” she confidently affirmed.
