Veteran Actor Kayode Akindina (paragon) Opens Up on Declining Film Roles and His Journey Into Acting

Veteran Yoruba actor Kayode Akindina has shared the reasons behind his decision to decline numerous film roles in recent times, while also reflecting on his close relationships with colleagues and his journey into the industry.

In an interview on Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, Akindina revealed that he currently receives an overwhelming number of movie offers but often turns them down due to the physical demands of acting.

“I get a lot of movie roles nowadays to the extent that I have to reject some of them,” Akindina explained. “It is not easy for me to feature in movies like I used to because I’m getting older, and I do not have the strength to act in some movie roles anymore. I prefer being featured in cinema movies nowadays because it is less stressful, and the payment is always good.”

Akindina also took a moment to recount his humble beginnings in acting. He credited his late mentor, Kola Majek, for shaping his career. The actor revealed that he did not attend formal school, having left home at a young age to chase his dream of becoming an actor.

The actor’s candid revelation has sparked admiration from fans and colleagues, with many praising his dedication to the craft and his ability to adapt to changing circumstances in his career. Akindina’s story serves as an inspiration to aspiring actors, highlighting the importance of resilience and passion in achieving success.
