Nigerian actor and content creator Yemi Elesho has shared details about his long-standing friendship with Grammy-nominated singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake.
During a TikTok live session with fellow actor Jigan Baba Oja, Elesho revealed that their bond dates back to their undergraduate days at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife. He recalled how he frequently bought food and drinks for Asake and even paid him in meals to feature in his campus skits and films.
According to Elesho, he would offer Asake a plate of rice and a bottle of soda, worth ₦700 at the time, as compensation for his performances. The comedian, who is the son of veteran actor Adewale Elesho, also mentioned that they played in celebrity football matches together and that he still has pictures and videos of their time at OAU.
He described Asake as his "day-one" friend, emphasizing the deep bond they have shared over the years.
