Popular Yoruba movie actor Jeff Owolewa has shed light on the serious conflict between Nollywood stars Itele and Austin Emmanuel, revealing that respected veteran Antar Laniyan's attempt to intervene did not succeed.
Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV on YouTube, Jeff detailed the close friendship that once existed between Itele and Austin, which sadly turned into a bitter fallout. According to Jeff, he had firsthand knowledge of the situation as he was working with both actors during the period of their dispute.
He revealed that Austin Emmanuel first gained prominence while working on Itele’s movie sets, describing Itele as a generous figure in the industry known for helping upcoming talents. Over time, Austin began producing his own movies and rose to fame in his own right. At that point, Itele continued to support him as his producer, and their bond was admired by many.
However, things eventually took a negative turn. Jeff said the fallout was so serious that not even the intervention of Antar Laniyan, a respected elder in Nollywood, could resolve the matter.
His words:
“There was so much love between Austin and Itele. Itele helped Austin a lot, but unfortunately, the fight between them became very serious. Antar Laniyan tried to settle it, but even he couldn’t fix it.”
The revelation has stirred conversations online, with fans expressing concern over the growing number of unresolved rifts in the Yoruba movie industry.
