Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has expressed his disappointment at not receiving any award at the recently concluded Headies event.
Taking to his Instagram story, the street-hop artist shared his frustration, hinting at what he described as another example of the music industry's continued disregard for him.
“They no give us award, but God give us grace,” he wrote, emphasizing that despite the snub, he still feels blessed.
Portable revealed that he was actually invited to perform at the award show but couldn't make it because he was locked up for five days during that period. In a sarcastic tone, he questioned in Yorùbá: “So if I had shown up to perform, I still wouldn’t have received any award?”
He added, also in Yorùbá, that although no award came his way, he continues to enjoy success. According to him, he’s been making money, just purchased a new car, and remains grateful for his blessings.
Fans online had mixed reactions, with some supporting his perspective and others urging him to be patient and focus on growth in the industry.
