Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has shared her heartfelt gratitude to God as she celebrates her first Eid with her daughter, calling it a powerful testimony of faith, healing, and answered prayers.
Taking to Instagram, the Yoruba movie star reflected on her emotional journey to motherhood. Debbie, who welcomed her child late last year, revealed that she and her husband had spent many days crying and praying—grieving a painful past and hoping for a brighter future. Today, she says those prayers have been answered.
In her emotional message, Debbie thanked God for the many blessings in her life, including love, family, joy, happiness, good health, progress, and divine favour. She said celebrating this year’s Eid with her daughter and family was more than just a holiday—it was a testimony of restoration.
“We cried and mourned… we looked forward and prayed for this day. God did it!
I’m that daughter who will forever proclaim His name to the world.
Thank you, Lord, for giving me beauty for ashes,” she wrote.
