Veteran Nollywood actor and academic, Hafiz Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has shared touching details about his personal life, marriage, and career journey in a new interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
The 61-year-old comic actor, who is also a lecturer at the Lagos State University of Education, revealed that despite his fame and the temptations in the entertainment industry, he has never cheated on his wife, Olaide, throughout their over 20 years of marriage.
“I’ve never had an extramarital affair. I don’t have it in me to chase women around. Even before I got married, I was not promiscuous,” Saka stated.
He described marrying his wife as the best decision of his life. He revealed that he got married at the age of 40, later than most, and is now proudly paying school fees with grey hair. The couple is blessed with three children — two sons and a daughter.
Saka also reflected on a past relationship that didn’t work out. He recalled that a woman he had hoped to marry insisted he must own two cars before their wedding, a demand he couldn’t meet, even though he was already popular at the time.
“I wasn’t even thinking of one car, talk less of two,” he said. He ended the relationship and eventually found love with Olaide.
The actor also revealed the origin of his bald signature look, which began during his university days when he shaved his head for a stage performance. Since then, his hair never grew back.
“I shaved my head for a role in school and the hair never grew again. That’s how I’ve looked ever since,” he explained.
Hafiz Oyetoro rose to national fame in 2013 through the iconic MTN “I don port o” advert. Since then, he has become a beloved figure in both Yoruba and English Nollywood films, as well as a respected theatre practitioner and lecturer.
His story has earned admiration from fans and colleagues alike, who continue to praise his discipline, humility, and long-lasting dedication to both his family and profession.
