Nollywood actor and content creator Yemi Elesho has shared fond memories of his longtime friendship with award-winning singer Asake, recalling their struggles before fame.
In an interview with actress Biola Bayo, Yemi revealed that Asake had nothing in the early days of his career. He said he often took the now-famous singer to Bawee, where he bought him food.
"Asake had nothing back then. Social media won’t let me say much before they say I’m bragging, but I’m saying the truth. I used to take him to Bawee and buy him food," Yemi said.
The comedian also reflected on his own hustling spirit at the time, revealing that he frequently sent direct messages to people, including international stars like American rapper Chris Brown.
Yemi’s heartfelt recollection sheds light on Asake’s humble beginnings before becoming one of Nigeria’s top music sensations.
