Ossai Ovie Success, a special aide to the Delta State Governor, has criticized music star Davido and his wife Chioma over their upcoming white wedding in Miami, Florida, calling it a wasteful and unnecessary expense.
The celebrity couple, who held a grand traditional wedding in Lagos last year, are set to hold the final part of their wedding celebration in the U.S. this weekend. While many fans are excited about the event, Ossai strongly disapproves.
Taking to his Instagram page, Ossai expressed his disappointment, saying that having a lot of money doesn't mean it should be spent carelessly. He questioned the need for another extravagant ceremony, especially one taking place abroad, long after their traditional marriage.
“Davido and Chioma’s white wedding this weekend in Miami is a waste of money, and I am disappointed,” he wrote.
Ossai went further to compare Davido to well-known billionaires like Aliko Dangote, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg, claiming that these wealthy men wouldn’t spend money on such grand displays.
“Dangote, Ossai Ovie Success, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg won’t waste money like this,” he added.
He also asked what the purpose of the white wedding was, since the couple already had a lavish celebration last year.
While some social media users supported his opinion, many others defended Davido, saying he has every right to celebrate his marriage the way he chooses.
