Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has spoken candidly about her personal life, revealing that at 52 years old she remains single and without children. In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, the award-winning actress confirmed she has no children, adding, “No, I don’t, unfortunately.”
Akintola, born May 5, 1973, stressed that her single status was not a personal choice, saying, “Not chosen oo.” She explained that the love of her life had passed away, a loss she first shared in an October 2024 interview with actor Emmanuel Ehumadu. Despite the heartbreak, she remains open to marriage if she meets a man she truly envisions forever with — even at age 82.
“I won’t marry just for the sake of it. Marriage is hard, and you should only do it with someone you can be with forever,” she stated.
A Lagos native, Akintola began her acting journey in 1995 with the film Owo Blow alongside Femi Adebayo and rose to fame in Out of Bounds (1997) with Richard Mofe-Damijo. She attended Maryland Convent Private School, Command Day Secondary School, and later earned a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan. Her latest work includes playing Inspector Mo Ogunlesi in Kemi Adetiba’s series To Kill a Monkey.
