Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has expressed gratitude to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct the road leading to the KAP Film Village and Resort.
In a post on his Instagram page, Kunle described the development as a huge step toward boosting both the creative industry and rural development. He revealed that the governor has approved the reconstruction of the 23-kilometre Okaka–Igbojaye–KAP Village Road, which connects several communities, including Okaka, Otu, Igbojaye, Komu, and his landmark film village.
Kunle emphasized that the road is more than just infrastructure, calling it “a corridor of possibility” that will open doors for filmmakers, farmers, young creatives, and the local economy.
He highlighted that while the improved road will ease access for students, tourists, and production crews visiting the KAP Film Village, it will also boost agricultural trade, school access, and overall economic activity in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area.
Kunle further stated that the project positions Oyo State as a forward-thinking hub for creative growth, making KAP Village a prime location for hosting local and international productions, residencies, and educational programs.
"Governor Makinde’s foresight in pairing infrastructure with culture is a strategic masterstroke, especially as Nigeria seeks to diversify its economy through film, tourism, and the arts," he wrote, thanking the governor for his commitment to Oyo State’s development.
