Actor Yemi Solade Reveals Why He Stopped Attending Church

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed why he stopped going to church, explaining that he has not been a regular churchgoer for over 10 years.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Solade said the turning point came in 2013 when a pastor at his church told him to reject acting jobs that were scheduled on Sundays.

According to the actor, the directive clashed with his career and source of livelihood. He explained that the same work the pastor wanted him to avoid was what provided money for his family and even offerings in church.

“If you see me in a church, it’s probably because we’re filming. Back in 2013, I went to church with my wife, and the pastor told me not to take jobs on Sundays. That was when I decided to stop,” he said.

Solade made it clear that his decision was not about rejecting faith but about protecting his career and family life. He said stepping away from church services allowed him to avoid unnecessary pressure and focus more on his acting and personal growth.
