Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has dismissed rumours that she is planning to cook the largest pot of beans following Hilda Baci’s recent record-breaking feat with jollof rice.
The Ekiti-born chef, who rose to fame after her 2023 cook-a-thon attempt, is currently studying for a professional culinary diploma at the Hospitality Business School in Lagos on a full scholarship.
In a social media post, Chef Dammy clarified that she has no such plans.
“Some of my classmates are still asking me, ‘Dammy, do you truly want to cook beans?’ Like, no! Why would I do that?” she said.
She went on to celebrate Hilda Baci’s achievement, describing it as a win not just for Hilda, but for all Nigerians and Africans.
“I’d like to send a very big congratulations to Ms. Hilda for the just completed project of cooking the biggest pot of jollof rice to feed thousands. Congratulations to Nigeria as a whole too, because this is a win for everybody in Nigeria and all African countries,” she said.
Chef Dammy also expressed gratitude to her supporters.
“I would just like to say thank you to everybody that has been supporting me, to those fighting on my behalf online, to my school mothers, and to everyone who has helped my growth and promotion, especially those supporting me financially,” she added.
