Fuji legend Saheed Osupa has reacted with joy after Grammy-winning Afrofusion star Burna Boy named him among the greatest musicians of all time.
Burna Boy made the remark in Zurich during a conversation with tennis icon Roger Federer, saying many of his “GOAT singers are Fuji artistes like Saheed Osupa.” The statement quickly trended online, winning applause from music lovers.
Responding via Instagram on Thursday, Osupa described the acknowledgment as “a monumental moment that celebrates the soul of Fuji music and its timeless influence.”
He added:
“This recognition not only uplifts my journey but also shines a brilliant light on our rich cultural heritage, bridging generations and genres worldwide.”
Osupa further thanked Burna Boy and hinted that he plans to attend one of his shows to personally show support.
In the same conversation, Burna Boy also listed 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, and J Hus as some of his greatest rappers, highlighting his wide range of musical influences.
