The late skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Sanku, continues to trend on social media following his sudden death in a fatal car accident on Monday, September 1. His passing sparked grief and speculation online, with some alleging that he may have engaged in spiritual practices to gain fame.
However, in an emotional video that has since gone viral, Sanku’s mother strongly debunked the claims. Speaking in Yoruba, she insisted that her son never visited herbalists or performed any form of ritual.
She explained that Sanku always sought her prayers, which he often described as his source of strength.
Her words:
“You can’t give him any spiritual item that he will ever use. He always said it’s my prayers that are working for him and begged me to keep praying. My son didn’t do anything spiritual. He knew no herbalists whatsoever. I’ve been hearing people say he might’ve done something spiritual, but that is not true. My son didn’t go anywhere or do any form of rituals.”
The grieving mother also recalled how Sanku had promised to invite her to his home and had even sent her money to buy foodstuffs shortly before his untimely death.
Meanwhile, emotional videos from his burial in Osogbo, Osun State, have surfaced online, further drawing sympathy from fans and colleagues.
