A 100-level Mass Communication student of Taraba State University (TSU), identified as Comfort Jimtop Oliver, has been found dead at her boyfriend’s residence in Jalingo.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 12, 2025, at a house in the Bakasi area of Jalingo, near Dr. Rapha’s quarters, opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s gate. Comfort, who hailed from Takum Local Government Area and belonged to the Kuteb ethnic group, was discovered lifeless under circumstances that remain unclear.
Police sources confirmed that investigations have begun to determine the cause of her death. A senior officer revealed that empty bottles of hard drinks were found beside the bed where the student was discovered.
According to the officer, when security operatives arrived, no one was found inside the house, which has over 15 tenants. The main occupant of the room, believed to be her boyfriend, was also missing and is currently on the run.
Authorities say preliminary findings are still ongoing as the case continues to raise concerns among students and residents of the area.
