Renowned gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has opened up about a deeply personal struggle in his marriage, revealing that his wife, Sarah, went through five miscarriages — including an ectopic pregnancy.
The emotional revelation came during the October 2025 edition of his popular online worship programme, Hallelujah Challenge, which runs daily from October 7 to 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Bassey shared that while many people assumed his life was perfect because he appeared joyful during the worship sessions, they had no idea he was battling heartbreak behind the scenes.
According to him, there were times when Sarah was hospitalized after a miscarriage, yet he still showed up online to lead praises as if nothing was wrong.
“My wife will have to forgive me. Do you know there were times during the Hallelujah Challenge when we had a miscarriage, and nobody knew? I would still come online to praise and dance,” he said.
He further recalled a particular moment when Sarah was in the hospital with an ectopic pregnancy.
“I would leave, lead praise and worship online, then return to the hospital, and the nurses attending to her would tell me, ‘It was powerful tonight.’ Not one, not two, not three or four pregnancies, but five,” he added.
Nathaniel and Sarah Bassey have been married since 2013, and despite their silent battles, the couple has remained strong in faith.
His testimony has sparked emotional reactions online, with many praising him for his strength and applauding Sarah for her resilience.
