American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in federal prison — just over four years — after being found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
The charges stemmed from his involvement in organizing drug-fueled parties, which he called “freak-offs,” where paid sex workers were allegedly involved in sometimes violent encounters. However, he was cleared of more serious charges such as racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force or coercion.
Combs has already spent time in custody since his arrest in September 2024. With time served credited, he is expected to spend about three more years behind bars. In addition to the prison term, he was fined $500,000 and will remain under supervised release for five years after completing his sentence.
At the sentencing, Combs expressed remorse, admitting to past abusive actions and struggles with drug addiction. His legal team pointed to his rehabilitation efforts in prison, including mentoring other inmates and teaching business skills.
Prosecutors insisted the punishment was necessary as a deterrent, citing the seriousness of his actions and previous violent behavior.
Combs now faces the reality of rebuilding his life after serving his time.
