Nollywood veteran Saidi Balogun has shared an emotional tribute while promoting the last movie of his late daughter, Zeenat Balogun.
In a heartbreaking Instagram post, he revealed that the film titled “Maid For a Day” was completed just two weeks before her passing. Although he found it painful to share, he said he believed that “light can never be hidden under a shade,” and that her work deserved to be seen.
“This hurts to post, but light can never be hidden under a shade. My daughter Zeenat Balogun’s last movie before she moved on to glory, barely 2 weeks after — Maid For a Day, ready for the screens,” he wrote.
Fans and colleagues quickly flooded his comment section with messages of comfort:
Temi Kosoko wrote: “Zee baby, the world will still hear your name as loud as you wanted it.”
@theprettywunmiadebayo added: “It’s well. May her soul continue to rest in peace.”
Others described her passing as “still painful” and prayed for her eternal rest.
It was reported in October last year that Saidi lost Zeenat, his first daughter. In a statement released at the time, he described her as “a warrior… the embodiment of joy, acceptance, and resilience,” who firmly believed in the phrase “never give up.”
Now, her final work will live on as a lasting tribute — a reminder of her passion and talent.
