The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has celebrated the 5th birthday of his son, Prince Tadenikawo, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Naomi Silekunola.

Marking the special day on Instagram, the Ooni described Prince Tadenikawo as “my beloved son”, noting that the young prince represents “the promise of tomorrow, the breath of heritage, and the continuation of our sacred dynasty.”

He added that the boy’s laughter brings light to the royal family, and his presence strengthens his faith in the greatness of their people.

Raining blessings on him, the monarch wrote:

“Today, my heart overflows with gratitude to Eledumare as I celebrate the 5th birthday of my beloved son, Prince Tadenikawo.
In you, I see the promise of tomorrow, the breath of heritage, and the continuation of our sacred dynasty.
Your laughter brings light to our royal dynasty, and your presence renews my faith in the enduring greatness of our people.

Their Co-Parenting Moments

In 2023, the Ooni reunited with Naomi to celebrate their son’s 3rd birthday. Photos showed the ex-couple together at the palace as they marked the occasion. They also reunited for the opening of a project in Akure, Naomi’s hometown, where the monarch, Naomi, their son, and the Ooni’s other wives were present.

Naomi’s Separation from the Palace

Naomi shocked many in December 2022 when she announced the end of her 3-year marriage to the Ooni. She later explained that returning to the palace was not an option since the king now had six wives. She said her marriage had sweet and bitter moments, and admitted she was “too soft and innocent” when she married, but experience has taught her valuable lessons.

In October, the Ooni shared that people mocked him after Naomi left, saying a king without a queen lacked respect. He revealed he prayed to God for guidance, and today, he has several queens in the palace.
