Nigeria’s Super Eagles will finish the year 2025 in 38th position on the FIFA men’s world ranking, according to the latest update released on Monday.
Despite the global ranking, the Super Eagles maintained their place as the fifth-best national team in Africa. The three-time African champions currently trail Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt on the continent.
Nigeria will be hoping to improve their position with a strong showing at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where positive results could boost their ranking ahead of the next update.
On the global stage, Spain retained the number one spot, staying ahead of reigning world champions Argentina. France, England, and Brazil completed the top five teams in the world.
FIFA also announced that the next men’s world ranking will be released on January 19, 2026.
