The Federal Government has officially opened applications for the 2026 Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas Scholarship Scheme.
The scholarship is aimed at Nigerian postgraduate students who wish to study abroad, specifically in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia. It is open to candidates seeking MSc and PhD degrees in courses related to the oil and gas sector.
The announcement was confirmed on Monday through a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Dada Olusegun, the Special Adviser to the President on Social Media. He stated that the Federal Government has begun the application process for the 2026 PTDF overseas scholarships.
According to information published on the PTDF scholarship board website, successful applicants will enjoy several benefits. These include full tuition, return flight tickets, accommodation, living allowances, health insurance, and bench fees where applicable.
PTDF explained that the 2026 Overseas MSc and PhD Scholarship programme is designed to give Nigerian students access to world-class education, advanced research facilities, and global expertise. The scheme also aims to strengthen local skills and capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Interested applicants are advised to apply early and ensure they meet all requirements outlined by PTDF.
