“If Only She Had Listened to the Prophecy” – Gospel Singer Omije Ojumi Dies at 46 as Fans and Colleagues Mourn

It is a sad time for fans and lovers of Nigerian gospel singer and evangelist Bunmi Akinaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, following news of her death.

According to reports, the singer fell seriously ill around 2025. Despite efforts to restore her health, she did not recover. The illness, which was not fully disclosed, was said to be linked to her leg. Omije Ojumi passed away at the age of 46.

Her death came as a shock to many, especially as it happened just a day after Pastor Segun Arole raised concerns about her health on Instagram. In an emotional post, the pastor questioned her condition and called on people close to her and fellow Yoruba gospel artistes to give updates. He revealed that money had already been donated for her treatment and asked that more support be requested if needed. He strongly appealed that the singer should not be allowed to die.

Following the announcement of her death, many Nigerians took to social media to mourn her passing and express their heartbreak.

Actress Funke Etti simply wrote, “Haa,” showing her shock.

Mary Nurpsey said she wished the singer had acted earlier on a prophecy about her sickness, believing the situation might have been avoided.

Another user, Olowoone, claimed a Yoruba prophet had earlier asked about her health, describing her death as heartbreaking.

Modupe_ola_mii expressed hope that the singer is now in a better place with no more pain.

Ellamiddy2023 lamented the struggles of life, praying that people would not die before their time.

Iam_lope_mi described life as fragile, while Softly.feyii questioned why such sad events are happening at the start of the new year.

Omije Ojumi’s death has left many in mourning, as fans remember her for her gospel music, ministry, and impact on lives through her songs.
