A fishing community in Takinta, Jomoro Municipality, Western Region, Ghana, has been thrown into shock after a respected resident was killed by his neighbour while trying to prevent him from taking his own life.
According to Daily Guide Network, the deceased has been identified as Cosmos Ndah, while the suspect is Nya Meah. Reports say Meah had told people in the area that he was tired of life and wanted to commit suicide.
A resident narrated that Meah went to his room and threatened to end his life. When Cosmos Ndah heard about this, he decided to visit Meah to persuade him to change his mind.
Eyewitnesses said Cosmos Ndah went to the suspect’s house to calm him down, but a confrontation started. The situation became violent, and Meah attacked Cosmos Ndah with a machete, resulting in his death.
The police have taken over the case and are investigating the incident. The suspect has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing to establish the full details.
