Prince Odi Okojie, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, has reacted publicly after charges against a woman accused of defaming him were withdrawn.
Earlier, the celebrity couple had reported a TikTok content creator, Eedie Bliss, to the authorities over a video she shared online. In the video, Eedie made unverified claims that Mercy Johnson and her husband were involved in a plot that led to a miscarriage allegedly suffered by a woman said to be Prince Okojie’s mistress. The claims sparked widespread outrage and attention on social media.
Following her release, Mercy Johnson confirmed on Instagram that she decided to withdraw the charges out of love and respect for several people who appealed to her. She also pleaded with social media users to stop dragging her family into controversies, explaining that the damaging headlines were affecting her children and home.
Shortly after, Prince Okojie also shared his reaction. Posting beautiful photos of himself and his wife on Instagram, he reassured fans that their marriage remains strong and protected by faith. He wrote that they are “rooted in grace and covered by God’s blessings.”
The controversy is not new. Last year, a popular blogger accused Mercy Johnson of fighting with an alleged pregnant side chick of her husband and claimed the actress played a role in terminating the pregnancy. Mercy and her husband strongly denied the allegations at the time, responding by sharing loved-up photos and videos together to shut down the rumours.
The couple also appeared united at their daughter Angel’s 10th birthday party and later celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary with family photos. Mercy Johnson has repeatedly said her family means everything to her and credited God for keeping their marriage strong despite constant attacks and false stories.
For now, the couple appears focused on peace, family, and moving forward.
